Grants

For artists

  • Enable artists to create projects of all disciplines that take place in the public realm in the city of Boston and that integrate public participation into artistic process and/or presentation.
  • NDP Production Grants provide funds for the creation and U.S. touring of new dance works. These grants are highly competitive and are awarded to approximately 18 projects annually.
  • Enhances partnerships between artists and residency sites to prepare new works for touring.
  • NDP Touring Awards support U.S. tours of dance works by national and international artists with up to $35,000 in subsidy reserved for each project's tour through NDP Presentation Grants. 
  • Makes grants to New England-based choreographers of all genres and backgrounds to support critical opportunities that will advance their artistic careers.

Programs

  • Creative City grants will enable artists to create projects of all disciplines that take place in the public realm in the city of Boston and that integrate public participation into artistic process and presentation.

  • Expeditions provides support to nonprofit organizations in New England for the tour planning or touring of performing artists from around the world.

  • The National Dance Project fuels the creation of new dance works and brings the work of the most compelling dance artists of our time to audiences across the nation.

  • The Regional Dance Development Initiative (RDDI) provides professional growth for dance artists in regions across the U.S. through a 10-day “dance lab” designed to refine work, hone public presentation skills, and strengthen partnerships between artists and presenters.

  • New England States Touring (NEST) provides support to New England-based nonprofit organizations (known as presenters) for performances and community activities by select New England performing artists.
