Choreographer Liana C. Percoco is collaborating with the Boston Public Quartet to create a multi-arts sensory experience in Boston's Franklin Park. Inspired by Ralph Waldo Emerson’s history at the site, and the architecture of the Schoolmaster Hill Ruins we want to bring dance and movement performance with live music performed by BPQ that will engage participants with the site in multiple senses- visual, aural, and kinesthetic. An unexpected audience of park patrons can engage in the performance in through crafted experiences - such as a yoga/movement area, a poetry/postcard writing area, or simply offering the audience a place to rest, reflect, and absorb music, dance, and expressive experiences during the event. BPQ will offer a repertoire of chamber music of underrepresented and BIPOC composers such as Jessie Montgomery and Jeraldine Herbison, while dancers will bring attention to architectural details of the site and ask audience members to move and discover with them.
