Ophelia Rivas has produced a temporary public art project for UMASS, Amherst called The Border Crossed Us inspired by the border fence that cuts through her own Tohono O'odham land. The project consists of a to-scale photographic mural of the US-Mexico border fence on the campus' North-South dividing line. In addition to a series of talks and performances at the site of the artwork, Rivas has asked artist and activist Tiokasin Ghosthorse to perform on flute during the busiest times of campus traffic. Informally, they plan to discuss each other
