Hartford Jazz Society, Inc.

Composer Earl MacDonald will be commissioned to write three original works for the Hartford Jazz Society's 10-piece, New Directions Ensemble. Each of the new pieces will be rehearsed and debuted in Connecticut high schools. Students will observe rehearsals, interact with the professional ensemble in clinics, and attend lectures and question & answer sessions. Through the composers interactive blog, students may communicate directly with him about the compositional process, prior to his residency.
