The tour for pianist Christopher O'Riley offers New England audiences a chance to musically expand their experiences of classical and contemporary music. His work blends classical piano skills with passionate explorations ranging across three centuries of musical composition. Familiar compositions by masters Mozart, Dvorak, and Tchaikovsky are interspersed with contemporary artists such as Radiohead, Nick Drake, and Tori Amos. In addition to public performances, tour partners will also use Mr. O'Riley's experience working with young musicians as the host of NPR's From the Top. Specific activities planned for students include lecture-demonstrations, piano masterclasses, workshops, and a podcast.
