Bates Dance Festival

Monica Bill Barnes & Company will tour four New England states for the first time, presenting two new works, Another Parade and The Headdress Project. The accessibility, wit, and relatable nature of Barnes’ work ensures  audiences, from experienced dance viewers to students new to the contemporary medium, will be able to understand and appreciate the artistry.  Community engagements to deepen this connection include dance masterclasses, lecture-demonstrations, a reception, post-show question and answer sessions, and dance faculty-led discussions.  In addition, a study guide is being developed to aid local teachers in prepping their students on the different elements of the performance.
