Alchemists Workshop is proposing to introduce one of our most exciting young composers (Will Ogmundson) to one of our most venerable authors and illustrators (Tomie Depaola) This is to have Will write a children's opera based on Tomie's classic holiday story: Night of Las Posadas.
Will arranged a dozen Amy Beach songs from 100 years ago in a way that captivated a students' theatre camp last summer. This gave us the idea to pair him up with Tomie whose book we've been wanting to present for 16 years (when he first gave us his blessing to do so).
