To all teaching artists in New England: Please join on May 13 at Green Street Arts Center for a potluck dinner and a marketing meeting. The meeting will include:

  • Sell the Sizzle, Not the Steak   
    Bob Bloom, CT’s teaching artists, will speak about how he markets his programs. In 1997, Bob Bloom received certification as a "Master Teaching Artist" by the Connecticut Office of the Arts. His interactive drumming programs are presented in settings including education, recreation, healthcare, social work, eldercare, corporate, and disabilities. For over twelve years, Bob was an independent manufacturers' representative for vendors in the consumer electronics, professional audio, and musical instrument industries including: Harman International, Panasonic, Toshiba, Clarion Corporation, Electrovoice, and Remo, Inc. His responsibilities in the New England states were the development of products, the sales and marketing of products to retail, distribution, and catalog accounts, and the sales training of account personnel.
  • CreativeGround
    Dee Schneidman, research manager for the New England Foundation for the Arts (www.nefa.org) will present NEFA’s newest tool for teaching artists: CreativeGround, New England's regional directory that spotlights cultural nonprofits, creative businesses and professional artists, and connects them with each other and those who are invested in the New England creative economy.
