1. RFQ: Sierra Madre Villa Corridor Public Art Project in Pasadena, CA

Description: The City of Pasadena is seeking qualifications from artists and artist teams to commission a permanent, exterior public artwork as part of the Sierra Madre Villa Avenue Corridor Improvement Project within Pasadena, California.  The sculpture will be installed at the 210 Freeway underpass at Sierra Madre Villa (south portion) and/or on the sloped hill adjacent to the 210 Freeway at the eastbound freeway on-ramp at Sierra Madre Villa Avenue (northeast corner).

Description: The Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy seeks artists’ and/or creative producers’ proposals for the production of a one night, winter event that incorporates the creative use of light. Up to three Boston area artists will be selected and given $1500 - $2500 stipends to produce a unique event for the 2012/13 winter season (December – March) on the Greenway.

3. Call for Artists: Public art work for Schlow Centre Region Library in State College in PA

Description: The Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts seeks to commission a unique work of art on behalf of the Centre Area Transportation Authority and Schlow Centre Region Library in State College, PA.    The work of art will be placed outside the library, at a spot that is also a local public transportation hub.

4. RFP: Elliott Bay Seawall Project in Seattle, WA

Description: The Seattle Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs, in partnership with the Seattle Department of Transportation, seeks an artist or artist team to develop a detailed proposal for artwork for the Elliott Bay Seawall Project. The new seawall will replace the existing one in downtown Seattle, from South Washington Street to Broad Street, with a structure that meets current safety and design standards. The artwork will reveal and support the habitat and ecological function of the new seawall.

The seawall protects Seattle's downtown waterfront from wind-driven storm waves and the erosive tidal forces of Puget Sound and Elliott Bay. The seawall will also be the structural support for new public spaces along Seattle's waterfront.

The selected artist will join the seawall project team in early 2013. The seawall project is scheduled to reach final design in late 2013, with construction to be complete in early 2016.

5. RFQ: Frederick Douglass Peace Garden Art Project in Boston, MA

Description: The Edward Ingersoll Browne Fund (BF) and Boston Art Commission (BAC), working in collaboration with the Boston Natural Areas Network (BNAN) and the United Neighbors of Lower Roxbury (UNLR), seek qualifications from artists to create a permanent public art installation inclusive of landscape improvements in Lower Roxbury, a neighborhood of Boston, to celebrate the life and character of Frederick Douglass.

The Committee will consider any exterior works of art, including but not limited to sculpture, park surfacing, water features, seating elements, landscape architecture, or any combination of the above.

6. RFP: Texas Tech University Systems seeks artwork for Experimental Sciences Building in Lubbock, TX

Description: The Texas Tech University System is accepting proposals for artists to create designs incorporating sculpture and landscaping for the build-out of existing shell space at the Experimental Sciences Building in Lubbock, TX.  The public art budget is $235,000 and should be all inclusive.

7. RFP: Steward New Media Center/Art Complex at the University of Maine, Orono, Maine

Description: The Maine Arts Commission is making an International call to any artist to submit proposals to design, create and install artwork at the Stewart New Media Center/Art Complex at the University of Maine, Orono, Maine, USA.

8. Call for artists for WRAP public art project in San Diego, CA

Description: WRAP is a new Port of San Diego public art project designed to encourage artistic investigation of Port tidelands in the development of a temporary multi-site artwork. The selected artist or artist team will create an artwork that creatively reveals some aspect of the working port or of the unseen activities in the maritime facilities through the artistic approach of wrap/wrapping.
