The WMNF Film Festival will premiere at the Museum of the White Mountains. It will open with Maine-based interdisciplinary dance artist Scott McPheeters' solo contemporary dance performance and audience participatory movement meditations. His work is inspired by local invasive plant species and can be experienced by all bodies. He investigates the complexities of “invasiveness" that can be perceived both as a metaphor for colonialism and whiteness, as well as a metaphor for queerness and/or the resiliency of the "other". This program re-frames qualities of the "invasive" as tools to inspire urgency and transformative, restorative action alongside intersectional environmental stewardship.
