Friends of Fort Point Channel serves as the Community Partner for Stitched Into Memory, an arts education initiative teaching ancient West African textile arts to Boston youth. Led by artist and educator, Stephen Hamilton, this project celebrates and commemorate the historic and contemporary African Diasporic communities of Boston. We have provided the insurance for the students, the artist and the piece itself and are heavily involved in the outward programming, hosting three events, including an artist panel, a public opening reception and a closing fiber arts celebration.
