Tense Vagina: an actual diagnosis is about motherhood- its beauty, challenges, isolation, humor and identification as a major influence on the human experience. This evening length solo piece, created and performed by Sara Juli, uses humor, movement, song, text and audience participation to reveal all that is awesome and all that sucks when it comes to being a mother. Tense Vagina focuses on the parts of motherhood that are taboo and not often discussed such as loss of bladder control, sexual libido, tears, monotony, and loneliness. Drawing on her experiences, and using abstract movement, sounds, audience participation and a forest of dildos, Sara connects with parents and non-parents alike.
