What We Do

The arts are essential. Whatever the medium, art has the ability to inspire and inform; to entertain and provoke; to connect us by creating a forum for shared experiences and public discourse; and to reflect our constantly evolving world.

Our mission at NEFA is simple: to cultivate and promote the arts in New England and beyond. We fulfill that mission by:

• Supporting – We support artists with the resources they need to create and present their work to the public.
• Connecting - We connect key stakeholders across the artistic enterprise in creative, meaningful, and thought-provoking ways – both in person and online.  
• Strengthening – We strengthen the creative economy by conducting data-driven research that measures the economic value of the arts, provides advocacy tools for artists and organizations, and helps inform policy and shape laws relating to the arts.
