New England Foundation for the Arts announced today the appointment to their board of David McWilliams (MBA, Public and Nonprofit Management, ’94). In a press release, they reported:
[T]he New England Foundation for the Arts (NEFA) announced the appointment of new board member David McWilliams of Strafford, VT.
David McWilliams oversees corporate development for the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. He is a founding member and a key organizer of “Together for Kids,” a new national fund raising alliance of children’s hospitals, and currently serves on the Executive Committee as Vice Chair.
Prior to moving to Vermont, McWilliams was Production Manager at Long Wharf Theatre in New Haven, CT, among others. After moving to Vermont in the ‘70s, David took over the reins of Pentangle Council on the Arts in Woodstock, VT, turning the Council from a small community arts group to an arts presenting and education organization with over 50 shows a year and Arts-in-Education programs in the region’s schools. During his tenure the Arts Council oversaw a million dollar renovation of the Town Hall Theatre in Woodstock. David also served as Executive Director of Circus Smirkus, an international youth circus based in Greensboro, VT.
Mr. McWilliams received a BS from Union College in 1972 and an MBA in Non Profit and Public Management from the Boston University in 1994. “Though I currently work in health care, my early working years were centered on the arts,” remarked McWilliams. “I see joining NEFA's Board as coming back to my original love.”
