The December 1, 2011, deadline will be the last for Meet the Composer/New England as it currently exists. The program guidelines are currently under review as NEFA evaluates the partnership with Meet the Composer, Inc., as they transition to become New Music USA.
About Meet the Composer/New England
Nonprofit organizations in New England may apply for Meet the Composer/New England. Eligible projects encompass the full range of music composition, including jazz, classical, and songwriting.
Grants range from $200 to $2,500 and are available in amounts of up to 50% of the composer's fee, inclusive of honoraria, travel, and per diem.
Meet the Composer/New England Program Goals
- Increase opportunities for New England composers by fostering the creation, performance, dissemination, and appreciation of their music
- Provide meaningful interactions and experiences with New England composers, their music, and the citizens of New England.
Eligibility
Any nonprofit, school, or government entity based in New England (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont) is eligible to apply for a Meet the Composer/New England grant. Eligible projects encompass the full range of music composition, including jazz, classical, and songwriting. Contact program staff with questions regarding eligibility.
