  • February 15, 2012 (for projects occurring between April 1, 2012 - March 31, 2013)
  • September 14, 2012 (for projects occurring between November 1, 2012 - October 31, 2013)

 

HOW TO ACCESS YOUR APPLICATION

  • Submit online or by mail; read below for instructions.
  • NEFA welcomes any questions and will help with your application process.
  • Technical assistance is provided to all applicants.
  • It is recommended that all applicants contact the program staff prior to submission to ensure that all requirements are met.
  • Applications (submitted online or by mail) that are late, incomplete, or sent by fax or email will not be considered. NEFA is not responsible for applications lost in transit.

SUBMIT ONLINE 

Follow the instructions below to start or return to your online application or evaluation.

  1. New to NEFA's online granting? Before you start, you must visit the Online Grant Process page to create a CultureCount user account.
    START HERE TO CREATE A NEW USER ACCOUNT
  2. Already have a CultureCount user account? Click on the orange button below to access any active NEFA application and evaluation forms.
    ACCESS YOUR ONLINE GRANT FORM
  3. Sign in with your CultureCount username and password.
  4. Confirm that the applicant is listed with your username.*
    * If the applicant is incorrect or not listed, see FAQ #1 on the Online Grant Process page.
  5. Select the NEFA grant form to begin.

SUBMIT BY MAIL

Fill out an interactive PDF application online, print the form, make a photocopy of your application for your files, and mail the form and the items listed below to: NEFA | Native Arts | 145 Tremont St., Seventh Floor | Boston, MA 02111.

  1. Application form: One copy, completed and signed
  2. Project description: Up to two pages describing the following:
    1. Your artistry or organization and accomplishments to date 
    2. Your proposed project in relation to the funding criteria (the need, the plan, and the lasting benefit)
    3. How the grant funds will be spent
    4. Budget: Include detail, timeline, and planned outcomes
  3. Artist statement or organization history and program overview: Up to one page.
  4. Supporting Materials: The following should be emailed to nativearts@nefa.org or mailed to NEFA:
    1. Work samples: Digital images or video of artwork related to project, sent on CD/DVD or emailed (10MB maximum file size per email).
    2. Artist resume.
    3. Two letters of support for the project.
    4. Documentation of Native heritage/tribal affiliation or membership
    5. (Optional) Other supportive materials will be accepted, including press, awards, etc.

Evaluation

DEADLINE

All Native Arts New England grantees are required to submit an evaluation within one month from the end of their project.
