Presenter Travel Fund/Grant Application

The Presenter Travel Fund has been depleted for the remainder of this fiscal year. Applications will only be accepted for travel taking place after June 1, 2008.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Submit one copy of the Presenter Travel Fund Application form. Click here to download.
Attach a Travel Narrative of up to two pages that summarizes the value of this opportunity to your arts organization. Address the reasons for your interest in the work to be seen and a statement of your organization's financial need. Include brief biographical information of the person for whom funding is being requested.
Be certain to make a photocopy of your application for your files.
Mail Presenter Travel Fund Application Form and Travel Narrative to NEFA.

Grant Guidelines

Grants to non-profit, New England-based organizations will cover up to 50% of total expenses, including mileage, economy class transportation, meals, lodging, admission, and, where applicable, conference or showcase registration fees. In general, grants will not exceed $500. If awarded, grant funds are released on a reimbursement basis after appropriate documentation (including receipts) is submitted.

FUNDING CRITERIA

Presenter Travel Fund encourages:

Travel* by programming or curatorial staff of arts presenting organizations.
Travel plans that enable the applicant to see the work of several different artists (for example, by attending a festival or showcase, or by traveling to a city or region where multiple cultural events are happening).
Travel to conferences with strong showcasing components.
Travel plans to see outstanding multi-cultural, contemporary, or traditional/folkloric art.
Travel for arts programming staff who have limited access to other sources of subsidy.

*Generally, NEFA will not support the travel of more than one individual from the same organization for the same trip.

Deadline

Travel subsidy requests must be received by NEFA no later than one calendar month prior to the departure date of the proposed trip. Requests are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Funding decisions are made within three weeks of application receipt.
