New England Foundation for the Arts

Presenter Travel Fund/Overview

The Presenter Travel Fund has been depleted for the remainder of this fiscal year. Applications will only be accepted for travel taking place after June 1, 2008.

The Presenter Travel Fund provides monetary assistance to arts programmers or curatorial staff in New England so that they may investigate new or unfamiliar artists or ensembles. Applicants may apply for funding to help cover the expense of attending festivals, showcases, conferences, or other cultural events where they can see artistic work. NEFA encourages applicants to seek out opportunities where multiple cultural events are taking place, so that they may experience as many performances and genres as possible in their travels.

Presenter Travel Fund Grants to non-profit, New England-based organizations will cover up to 50% of total expenses, including mileage, economy class transportation, meals, lodging, admission, and, where applicable, conference or showcase registration fees. In general, grants do not exceed $500. If awarded, grant funds are released on a reimbursement basis after appropriate documentation (including receipts) is submitted.

Deadline

Travel subsidy requests must be received by NEFA no later than one calendar month prior to the departure date of the proposed trip. Requests are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Funding decisions are made within three weeks of application receipt
