Expeditions/Grant Instructions

All application forms can be downloaded at the bottom of this page. Please read all application instructions before filling out any forms.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: PLANNING GRANTS

  1. One completed and signed copy of the Expeditions Planning Grant application form. Please note, only one Expeditions Planning Grant application may be submitted per project.
  2. Project narrative of up to two pages.
  3. Completed work plan or timeline. Please review sample work plan/timeline format here: pdf icon Sample Work Plan [88k]
  4. Two copies of Artist support materials.* Please include two identical copies of a work sample (CD or DVD only). Full-length work samples of the touring work with time queues are preferred. Please do not send promotional DVDs or work samples that only include short excerpts. Optional support materials may include biographical information on key artistic personnel or promotional packets. Please do not exceed six pages of optional support material.
    * If artist(s) have not yet been selected for the project at the time of application, this requirement is waived.
  5. Optional letters of interest from prospective planning/touring project partners.
  6. Optional season brochure from each prospective planning/touring project partner.


APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: TOURING GRANTS

All tour partners submit:

  1. One completed and signed copy of the Expeditions Touring Grant application form.
  2. Project narrative of up to two pages. This narrative should focus on the specific programming activities and budget for that partner's site (Emphasis on Review Criteria D, E, F and G.)
  3. Two copies of the most recent season brochure. If this is not available please contact NEFA.

Lead partner only submits:

  1. Lead partner narrative (in addition to the project narrative that all applicants complete). The lead partner narrative should describe the overall project and collaborative planning activity to date. It should also provide an overview with reference to artistic quality, exploration, accomplishment and a note on the signiicance of this project to the New England region. (Emphasis on Review Criteria A, B and C.)
  2. Two copies of Artist support materials. The lead partner must include two identical copies of a work sample (CD or DVD only). Full-length work samples of the touring work with time queues are preferred. Please do not send promotional DVDs or work samples that only include short excerpts. Optional support materials may include biographical information on key artistic personnel or promotional packets. Please do not exceed six pages of optional support material.


NOTES TO ALL APPLICANTS:

  • All forms must be typed and not stapled. Be sure to make a photocopy of your application for your files.
  • Grant requests will be processed without letters of agreement or a signed artist contract, however, grant funds are released on a reimbursement basis only after appropriate evaluation (including contract documentation) is submitted.

  • Applications must be received by NEFA by 5:00 p.m. EST, February 15, 2008. Applications that are late, incomplete, or sent by fax or e-mail will not be considered. NEFA is not responsible for applications lost in transit.

 

Note: NEFA is participating in a national effort to increase public arts agencies' accountability to state legislators and Congress which appropriate the funds given as grant awards. For this reason, the grant application forms require:
• Number of applicant’s U.S. Congressional district (federal level)

NEFA cannot process applications that do not provide accurate Congressional district information.

 

IMPORTANT NOTE
If awarded, grant funds are released on a reimbursement basis after appropriate documentation (including contract copies or other receipt-related paperwork) is submitted.
