For this project, Julia Marden will take on her niece as an apprentice to teach her traditional Northeastern twining methods. As a result of this apprenticeship, her niece will create a round bag, a flat bag, and a twined sash and leg garter set; and she will also be shown how to use natural materials to make cordage and dyes. Julia hopes that one day her niece will be able to master the art of twining and will be able to pass the tradition along to other tribal members.
