CreativeGround on the Road

CreativeGround staff will be stopping in each of the six New England states this fall to get the word out about NEFA, CreativeGround, and the upcoming survey of New England creative workers, including artists. Developing international exchange: NEFA's Idea Swap & CINARS Biennale

NEFA is working in partnership with CINARS, supported by the Québec Government Office in Boston and the Ministry of Culture, to develop ongoing relationships for international cultural exchange between artists and performing arts presenters in New England and Québec. 

The exchange will:

  • Aim to build an ongoing touring network between the two regions
  • Increase participants’ knowledge of artists and presenters in each region
  • Expand touring opportunities for artists from New England and Québec

Creative City June 2016 Public Events

Two cohorts of Creative City grantees are starting to hit the streets of Boston with their projects this month!  Last Saturday Denise Delgado hosted a Poetry Block Party with a performance by El Hombrecito at the Egleston Square Peace Garden as a part of her Creative City project, Bodega Signs + Wonders.

Inaugural Native Arts in New England Gathering

On Saturday April 9th amid much camaraderie, Northeast Indigenous Arts Alliance (NIAA) in partnership with New England Foundation for the Arts (NEFA) joined for the inaugural Native Arts in New England Gathering. With over 55 artists registered to attend and many last minute inquiries, we had a fantastic turnout. From the very beginning of the day, there was a clear sense of connectedness between all the participants and a quick viewing of one episode of APTN’s Askiboyz series.  As the meeting opened, I shared how NIAA was born from my prior work as the Program Manager for the Native Arts program at NEFA. This was a moment of reckoning for me. For so long, I had been working toward making NIAA a reality. Finally I could share my vision with those who the work was intended to assist.Read more »
