Call to Artists - Boise City Hall Plaza (deadline 10/26/11)

Boise City Hall Plaza Public Art Opportunity Open to Artists Nationally
Boise— Boise City invites artists living in the United States to submit an application to compete for the opportunity to design, fabricate and install public art for the plaza in front of Boise City Hall at 150 N. Capitol Boulevard. The plaza will be undergoing a complete renovation in the next two years. Finalists selected will be asked to consider designing a feature with a water component (there is electricity and water at the site). Artists who have a history of working with water as an integrated element in artworks are of particular interest for this project. Boise boasts a significant geothermal water system used to heat buildings, which we would like to celebrate with this project. Artists will work with the plaza design team and may provide input on other plaza design details such as seating or design elements to connect the primary artwork with the site.

Project Budget: $100,000 minimum budget, Additional funds up to $100,000 may be added to the budget from a partnering agency, which will be determined in November.

Eligibility: Open to artists of any visual arts discipline living in the U.S.

Deadline: October 26th, 1:30pm, local time.
